In August 2024 I (Britta) spent 1 Week in Ghent and attended an Exchange Week, which was organized by the wonderful local board members of IAAS Ghent, Belgium.
I met fantastic people from Greece, Italy, Hungary and Belgium of course ^^. We had a really fun time with activities like: trade fare, card games, singing in a cantor (?), beer tasting, baking Belgium Waffles (with like 10kg of butter!^^), cycling at the beach and late night chats.
The week was also quiet interesting, since we did many excursions, for instance to the Coca-Cola Factory in Brussel, City of Brussels, Ghent University and its research on climate gases and saltwater shrimps, a natural reserve and a company which helps with upgrading fermentation processes on a bigger scale.
All together I really enjoyed this Exchange week because of the people I met, places I saw, food I tasted and activities I did for the first time.
