Exchange Week Coratia 2015

In Fall 2015 we had the pleasure of visiting one of Croatia’s most beautiful islands with a group of Belgians, Greeks, Italians, Swiss, one guy from the Czech Republic and of course the hosting Croatians.

Mljet is located in the very south of Croatia. With a size of about 100 square kilometers and only a thousand inhabitants, it seemed we had the island for ourselves.

The week started off with a trip to the countryside close to Zagreb, where we learned more about therapeutic horse riding and enjoyed a barbecue. After a day trip of bus and taking the ferry, we finally arrived on Mljet. The rich Mediterranean vegetation and a nice see breeze welcomed us.

The days following were filled with cultural activities, discovering all different parts of the island, swimming in the sea and enjoying the relaxing atmosphere. Also, we learned more about extra virgin olive oil production, fish farming, and a workshop helped us brainstorm on new business ideas. One of the highlights was a trip to Dubrovnik, where we walked on the city wall around the perfectly restored old town. The traditional trade fair was as usual a blast and a culinary manifestation. A great thank you to the Croatians and their great hospitality.
